May 25, 2010: We know that gasoline is not cheap. Neither do these examples suggest that gasoline is cheap. They simply illustrate how outrageous some prices are. Since we purchase these commodities in small quantities we're usually not aware about how expensive they are. More so, when compared to gasoline. Really, this set of data coerced us to think, and aided in correcting our perspective. Especially the last one!

- Evian water: 9 oz @ $1.49 => $21.19 per gallon - Evian spelled backwards is Naive, well we truly are!

- Brake Fluid: 12 oz @ $3.15 => $33.60 per gallon
- Scope: 1.5 oz @ $0.99 => $84.48 per gallon
- Pepto Bismol: 4 oz @ $3.85 => $123.20 per gallon
- Vick's Nyquil: 6 oz @ $8.35 => $178.13 per gallon
- Printers' Ink: $5,200 a gallon. No wonder companies (like HP) give away printers for FREE! They know that they'll make us pay through our noses when we buy their ink cartridges.
