US Airways (LCC) has unfurled a new baggage policy which is not friendly for people like us who travel with a couple of checked in baggages. Since we travel a lot during the summer to raise funds for charities this new policy would mean higher ticket costs for us :(. Here are some details of the new policy which would be effective from May 5th, 2008.
For each ticketed customer, US Airways will transport 1 checked bag free of charge, and 1 bag as a carry-on. Some destinations outside of the continental U.S. have additional limitations on checked baggage at specific times of the year.
Additional checked baggage
A second checked bag will be assessed a $25* fee. The new fee applies to travel on or after May 5 for tickets purchased on or after February 26, 2008.
