I use Wells for my personal checking account...not too many great features besides having a local branch in all 3 of the cities I frequently spend time in, but that's all I need for my checking account!

Thanks Matthew for your feedback :). We too have a WF Checking a/c and it's a no frill a/c that does the job.

First and foremost:
In this current market situation when several banks are suffering and may be close to bankruptcy it gives me immense peace to know that Wells Fargo is one of the biggest 5 banks in the US. That means
- It has enough to cover for itself.
- Even if there is a problem the Feds will be very very keen to bail it out in order to prevent wide spread melt down in the financial system.

That is the biggest and most important issue right now for me.

Second:
It has a brokerage arm named Wells Trade which is giving 100 free trades whatsoever (stock, etf, mutual fund etc) per calendar year for combined relationship of $25,000 or more with Wells. The best part is the brokerage assets count towards the $25,000 limit. Now I look at it this way a discount broker like price (in fact it is free for me) with premium services and physical locations for peace of mind :) .

Third:
Apart from those it has a HUGE network of branches, in-store branches and ATMs on the west coast. That is a big plus in my opinion.
