Why am I going to work for unpaid overtimes?? When I can do something beneficial with that time that I will be working overtime and yet unpaid.
@Loan Modification
It's best to avoid unpaid overtime. But these days many companies are trying to squeeze the last drop out of their employees by giving huge workloads. At times this can force people to stay back and do unpaid overtime.

Working unpaid overtime can be a way to show that you really care about your job and the company. It's like making a suggestion about a way to work better, or a new customer to go after -- even if you don't get an immediate benefit, people think of that kind of thing later on when they're deciding who to promote (or fire).

It depends on a person's perspective. Your opinion is so true if taken in a positive note. But we've also seen cases where companies misuse unpaid overtime to get more out of their employees :(.
