Best Cash Back & Rewards Credit Cards!

Today we take a glance into the credit cards that served us best in 2007. Our analysis helped us compile a list of five superb cards that gave us cool cash back checks and rewards.

Chase Freedom Cash

• Sign-up bonus $50
• 3% cash back on groceries, gas and quick service restaurants
• Freedom to switch between cash back or reward points & back again
• Cash back earned by us: $460
• Rental Car Coverage: We had an accident with our rental car (rented with this card). This card paid our insurance deductibe of $1000! That brings our total benefits from this card to a cool $1460!

United Mileage Plus Visa Card

• Online Deal & Details
• Earn 21,000 bonus miles, after approval and making $250 in qualifying transactions.
• 1 mile for every eligible $1 spent
• First year's membership is FREE!
• Miles earned on this card by us this year is 34249 which is equivalent to around $340!
  

Citi AAdvantage Card

• Online Deal & Details
• 20000 bonus miles after $750 in purchases in first 4 months + 10000 bonus miles after $10000 in purchases
  
• First year membership is FREE!
• If you wish to continue after 1st year by paying the annual fee, there is an additional bonus of 10000 miles for purchases of $10000 in the second year of membership.
• Miles earned on this card by us this year is 33788 which is equivalent to around $330!
  

Citi Cash Returns Card

• Online Deal & Details
• 5% cash back on all purchases for 3 months
• 1% cash back on all purchases and cash advances after the first 3 months
• No Annual Fee; No Limit and No Expiration on the amount of cash back we can earn
• Checks will be sent automatically every time you earn $50 - no calling necessary
• We opened this card in Nov 2007; in two months we have earned a cash back of $ 186. We have one more month of 5% cash back, so we will make the most of it!
  

Citi Driver's Edge Card

• Online Deal & Details
• Earn 6% rebates on purchases made at supermarkets, drugstores and gas stations for 12 months. After that, we earn 3% rebates on purchases made at supermarkets, drugstores and gas stations. 1% rebates on other purchases.
  
• We can earn up to a maximum of $1,000 in rebates during any 12 consecutive months.
• Citibank has issued a special edition of this card for college students too.
  
• Cash back earned by us: $138!

That brings us to the end of this study. We earned a total of $(1460+340+330+186+138) = $2454 by using credit cards creatively and paying off our bills on time in a disciplined manner.
