Greetings! Here we are at our weekly roundup of personal finance Carnivals and Festivals. Our schedules are very busy these days especially since we are preparing our tax returns - several of them because of relocation. In spite of that we could publish quality posts daily last week and are committed to doing so in future as well. Well then, let us start our journey shall we!
The first stop was at Carnival of Personal Finance #91 hosted by Lazy Man and Money. As always it was a huge carnival with lots of posts. Requires quite an effort to host it. Lazy Man and Money did a fine job at that!
Our Publication: We had written a very informative article titled Investing - The Mistake Of Timing The Market. This was selected and published at the Carnival of Personal Finance #91. We would encourage the readers to peruse the insightful comments in that post as well.Couple of posts from this carnival that we think are worth reading:
How about posts and a poetry at the same time! Yes that is the theme at the Festival of Frugality #66. Check it out. Well done Frugal Duchess! Some posts worthy of attention are:
- Ben presents 10 Ways College Students can Save Money on Spring Break posted at Money Smart Life.
- Shannon Christman presents 10 Smart Ways To Save Money On Your Hobbies posted at Personal Finance Advice.
- ispf presents Watching Movies For Cheap (The Sequel) posted at Grad Money Matters.
Our next stop was the Carnival of Credit Card #6. The host Credit Card Lowdown has pored over the submissions and arranged them nicely with personalized comments. Over the weeks this carnival has grown quite big as well.
Our Publication: We contributed an article to this carnival. This is what the host had to say about it: "FIRE Finance presents Top Three 0% APR Cash Back Credit Cards! posted at FIRE Finance. Chase Free Cash Rewards Visa Card is a great way to earn cash back and save money. This card is also offering 1000 FREE sign up bonus points."Our picks from the many submissions are:
- The Free Geek presents 12 Little Known Facts Every Cardholder Should Know.
- Matthew Paulson presents Ten Facts the Credit Card Industry Doesn’t Want You to Know.
Finally we arrive at the Carnival of Taxes #14. The host Don't Mess With Taxes did a count down to tax day - neat! Don't miss this carnival. You may stumble upon some useful tips for filing your tax returns this season.
Our Publication: We did do our share of posting on taxes. The result was this acknowledgment at the Carnival. "FIRE Getters warns us that donating an old car may not be deductible, posted at FIRE Finance."
Apart from our post these tax tips could be helpful to most of us:
- Kristine over at Tax Tips for eBay Sellers asks and then answers the question, What taxes are you responsible for as an eBay seller?
- Larry at THE SKILLED INVESTOR Blog examines, in two parts, eight personal financial planning factors that tend to favor Roth contributions. You'll find the continuation link to part two at the end of Larry's first post.
- David has some thoughts on how the government wastes your tax dollars over at My Two Dollars. See if your list matches up with his. True or False?
- Students (and parents of) will want to educate themselves via Matthew's tax tips for college students, posted at Getting To Graduation.
